Itinerary

  • On arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport your guide will welcome you with a flower garland.
  • You will then be transferred to your hotel in Negombo.
  • Check in to the Hotel and at leisure to relax.
  • Optional - Evening enjoy a boat ride in the Negombo lagoon.
  • Dinner and overnight accommodation at your hotel.
  • After breakfast proceed to the cultural triangle.
  • En route visit the Negombo fishing village and the fish market.
  • Thereafter visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage which is an orphanage, a nursery and a captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Twice a day the elephants walk to the river for a cooling bath. It is a unique experience that you should not miss.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

  • After breakfast climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which was built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. This was a royal citadel for 18 years. This is a complex of buildings comprising with a royal palace, a fortified town with water gardens on par with the best in the ancient world, constitute a magnificent and unique architectural feat of the ancient Sinhalese. Sigiriya is a UNESCO world heritage site.
  • In the afternoon, set on a guided sightseeing tour in the medival city of Polonnaruwa. This is the island’s medieval capital after the decline of The Anuradhapura kingdom. Polonnaruwa is a UNESCO world heritage site, which has a great history of invasions and struggle. The main attractions are the conserved ruins of glorious royal palaces, massive Buddhist temples and unbroken monuments in colossal statues carved from solid rock boulders.
  • Optional- Enjoy a bike ride around the city of Polonnaruwa.
  • Thereafter visit a wood carving workshop. Wood carving is a form of working wood by means of a cutting tool (knife) in one hand or a chisel by two hands or with one hand on a chisel and one hand on a mallet, resulting in a wooden figure or figurine, or in the sculptural ornamentation of a wooden object.
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast proceed to Kandy.
  • En route visit the Golden Cave Temple at Dambulla. The cave monastery, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a UNESCO heritage site since 1991. The temple is covered with eaquisite 2000 year- old murals depicting the time and life of Buddha. The entire surface of the cave is a mosaic of frescoes with so many themes and styles that it is easy to be overwhelmed. The cave temple of Dambulla is not only an oasis for seekers of serenity but also the perfect spot to take in the picturesque views of the plains below.
  • Thereafter visit a Spice Garden in Matale. Enjoy an Ayurveda massage and lunch at the garden where you can taste a traditional rice and curry lunch.
  • You can visit a batik factory to witness the method of decorating a piece of cloth by creating pattern on it with wax and colouring rest of the piece of cloth, creating a vibrant mosaic with coloured and uncoloured areas.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • Evening witness a traditional Kandyan dance performance.
  • Evening visit sacred Temple of the Tooth. What brings sancticity to Kandy is the Temple of the Tooth which houses the sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha. Kandy EsalaPerahera, the most colorful pageant of Asia which is held in July and August each year in honor of the Tooth Relic is also considered to be one of the most important festival for Buddhists. It is a stunning spectacle of piety and grandeur!
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast visit a tea factory and a tea plantation. Then proceed to see the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.
  • In the Mediterranean climate of Kandy, the gateway to the central highlands, the gardens were bounded on three sides by a loop of river Mahaweli. The many beautiful avenues will lead one to sections which provide a burst of tropical colour. The botanical garden is full of ornamental flowers and exotic plants that are like emerald jewels adorned in the striking landscape of the island. Taking a stroll down these gardens would be a perfect way to spend your morning.
  • Thereafter visit a gem museum.
  • Free time for personal discovery of the city and free time for shopping.
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
  • Enjoy a train ride from Kandy to NanuOya,one of the most scenic train rides in Asia. You will see hundred shades of green meeting the bluest sky ever in the horizon. The scene make you full of joy and hope.
  • Check in to the hotel.
  • In the afternoon set on a sightseeing city tour in Nuwara Eliya.
  • Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.
  • After breakfast proceed to Tissamaharama.
  • En route visit Ella Gap and Rawana falls which give a wonderful view of beautiful mother Sri Lanka with the nearby hills.

  • Afternoon enjoy an Exclusive Jeep Safari at Yala National Park. Forming a total area of 1268 sq km of scrub, light forest, grassy plains and brackish lagoons, Yala national park is very rich in wildlife. Once inside, the landscape opened up into beautiful scenery of lakes, open patches of grasslands, jungle and complete silence and peacefulness! Yala can be honored as the best leopard spotting on the planet. The mating dance of the male peacock with its colorful plums fully spread is like a magical rainbow on earth. For wildlife enthusiasts, this park is an absolute must.
  • Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • After breakfast proceed to the southwest coast.
  • En route visit Galle fort. Will have lunch at fort.
  • Check in to your beach hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Full day at leisure to relax and enjoy the beach.

  • After breakfast proceed to Colombo.
  • En route visit a turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach is one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It is also very popular as all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka nest in Kosgoda. This is not so with many of the other hatcheries around the island whose beaches host only some of the species.
  • After reaching Colombo, set on a sightseeing tour in the commercial capital of Sri Lanka.
  • Free time for shopping before your departure flight.
